Its Scary Being a Puppy

Reagan has been pretty brave about seeing and trying new things. She even went up and down our front steps and got in and out of a crate in the van. BUT tonight she discovered an offending paperweight on a bookshelf. It was lurking in the shadows..... no doubt about to pounce on her. Travis touched it with his nose, but she still wasn't sure if it was friend or foe. I guess we'll be incorporating it into some clicker training soon. That's the nice thing about teaching them to touch an object using the clicker. Generally, the hounds love learning how to make you "click" and "treat". Its a fun game and it makes them feel good about themselves. You can use it to your advantage later when you are investigating new things.

Poor baby girl. Big mean paperweight lying in wait for her...

And has she adapted to not getting to scarf down a ton of food at one sitting?

The paperweight even has a little greyhound on it.... its greyhound friendly :-).

She's finding turkey necks and chicken backs hard to scarf down. She's having to chew her food now.

Reagan is too cute. I'm glad she is adjusting well so far. Has she played with any stuffies yet?

Love the pics, keep it up.

BTW that is a scary looking paper weight, it looks like it giggles??? Is it gel?

Sientay, she has started to play with stuffy skins. Remember we don't have nice stuffies laying around for the high prey killers in the house. But yes, she has started to play with what is available.

Denise, it literally is a heavy, solid, plastic paperweight. It just sits there doing nothing.

In the pictures with the other pups she didn't look so much like a puppy to me. But here she looks so much like a baby. Almost like a stuffed animal. Maybe it's the look on her face of, "is that thing going to jump up and get me?"
