Shades of Grey

Why is it that some greyhounds turn grey so early?  Jessie, the brindle in the picture above, (Gator in the background) is the greyhound I adopted when I was 18.  I hardly remember her as I think her face turned white the next day.  Below, is the Jessie I remember.

I am expecting that Riley's cute white snip on her nose will eventually be a distant memory as her face is quickly turning grey.  Here are a series of photos starting with the day I brought her home on September 20th, 2008 to today. 

One thing is for certain, Riley will always have ugly ears... but I love them!
