New Life For Rope Toys

I discovered a new use for rope toys. I might even be able to credit myself with this interactive toy invention. If you untwist the rope slightly, it provides little openings you can stuff kibble into. Less motivated dogs probably won't put forth the effort to extract kibble from a rope toy, but for hounds looking for something to do, this was a quick and easy way to keep them busy.

Bunny love puzzle toys! I'll have to give this a try. Reagan looks so cute with hers!

That's a great idea! And if you don't have any rope toys, you can always put a few treats in an old tea towel and twist & tie it up. It's great to make them work for their food and give them something to do while you aren't around. :)

Super idea...my guy spends quite a lot of time in his crate while we are at work (doesn't mind...it's his den). I stuff kibble and layers of yogurt in his big Kong, freeze it and hand it to him in the morning. This would be a change for him..and he needs more rope toys anyway!

My guys don't care much for rope toys, but they are very food motivated. Will definitely have to give it a try.

Luke says, "Thank you Ms. Jennifer for this Greyt idea." OK, ok. Actually he said, "Gimme that ropey food thing. Now!" Either way, he loves this. Only had one rope toy so Luke got that. Tried the same trick with a tightly braided, fleece tug for Luna. She is still enthusiastically working on it. Poor Venus had to settle for a small, tightly packed Kong. Guess I need to make another fleece tug so Venus can play as well. Great idea!

This is such a great idea! Will have to try that with Jemma. When it comes to food, nothing can stop her, lol.
