A Year Without

Travis has been gone for a whole year now. Time flies regardless. So much has changed and yet things are normal again. I finally know how to use my movie software because I spent many hours creating this video clip in memory of Travis to the song "Never Say Never" by The Fray. I love the way it turned out! I hope you do to!

"Never Say Never" Lyrics

There's some things we don't talk about
Rather do without
And just hold the smile
Falling in and out of love
Ashamed and proud of
Together all the while

You can never say never
Why we don't know when
Time and time again
Younger now than we were before

Dont let me go
Dont let me go
Dont let me go
[X2]

Picture you're the queen of everything
As far as the eye can see
Under your command
I will be your guardian
When all is crumbling
Steady your hand

You can never say never
Why we don't know when
Time, time and time again
Younger now then we were before

Dont let me go
Dont let me go
Dont let me go
[X2]

Were pulling apart and coming together again and again
Were growing apart but we pull it together, pull it together, together again

Dont let me go
Dont let me go
Dont let me go
[X4]

Jen, that started my Sunday morning off with a big cry. What an awesome dog. One that doesn't come around very often. Experiencing what you and Travis had together was a bond not easily broken, if ever. He wouldn't have realized half his potential without you guiding him. What a lucky boy that you found him. Or should I say, he found you. You made the perfect team. Jeanna

Hey! I posted yesterday, when I was sitting here blubbering! But, it didn't show up.

Travis was SUCH a special dog. I knew it the moment I met him. But, after he tried to kill my little dog, I couldn't keep him here. I'm SO glad Jen agreed to take him!!! It was a match that was just meant to be.

Travis set the bar so high in so many ways. What a wonderful tribute to your life and partnership. Hugs.

The worst part of having these wonderful beings in our lives is that our time on earth with them is always to short. However our memories of them means they ARE with us forever. That is a beautiful tribute to your Travis. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I am so touched by your tribute to Travis and the relationship between the two of you. I was on the website the other night but I just couldn't watch after I read the words to the song.

it was so beautiful but also so sad. Unfortunately, I could barely see it through the tears.

Thanks for all the lovely comments! Thank you for taking the time to remember Travis with me. Its been a year now, so I am ok, but just like for his name to cross someone's mind occasionally.

I had to wait to watch this until my husband was gone because I knew it would make me cry. I lost my Ellie in April, just two days after my birthday and after a very long fight with Valley Fever. I still am crying from it. Maybe I will do something like this for my girl on her own anniversary. Much, much too short is the time these dogs of our hearts spend with us. Thanks you for sharing such a beautifully expressed tribute. Carmon

Don't know if you are going to read this, since this post was from a couple months ago, but I wanted to say that was beautiful. I am soon to be a parent of my very first greyhound so I have enjoyed your site and blog. Thanks for sharing; I hope "Too Tall" (my new doggy) is as great a companion as Trevor was! But I have no doubt he will be.

I am so sorry I got your Travis' name wrong. I don't know where Trevor came from. Sorry!

I just found this website last night and stayed up till 3:00 am looking at everything. It is just wonderful. I fell in love with Travis, then I saw his memorial. I watched it 3 times, with many tears. I will never be able to hear that song again, without thinking and seeing Travis, you made me LOVE a dog I never met. Thank you.

Red, thank you so much for leaving a comment. Even though in a week Travis will have been gone for 2 years, I occasionally still want the world to stop and remember one of the world's greatest greyhounds. Thank you so much for doing that. I really appreciate it. Your words are so timely. Thank you... I just hope you check back and see this note so you know how much it meant to me.

A moving video. Travis was obviously a special friend. Thank you for sharing it. We have a lab/greyhound rescue and are planning to have him try dock diving. He runs like the wind!
