Tired Dogs Are Good Dogs

No good dogs here. If only I could tire out Reagan and Riley. After an agility training session, fetching, and dinner, you would think that they would be ready to call it a day. Most greyhounds would. But no, not Reagan and Riley. This is a typical evening of playing with rope toys. None of my greyhounds have ever shown any interest in the rope toys except for Reagan and Riley.

Katie and Travis were high energy, but they seemed to know when to turn it off. Once we were home, they chilled. I think living at the track teaches the important skill of chilling out. Reagan never had that experience and Riley's was very limited. Sometimes I just just have to confine them to crates or to the dog room in the evening just to get anything done.

OMG, that is too funny! I can't believe Riley just ripping the rope out of Reagan's mouth- LOL.

OMG, was Riley snorting? Grace did that when she got excited.

I was a bit surprised by the toy snatching too. :-)

Yes, Riley is a big snorter. She makes the funniest noises. I need to capture the morning noise when she is attacking her crate bedding.

Well, at least it isn't just my dog that doesn't have an off switch. (Am referring to Luna longdog, not the Greyhounds.) Riley is just hysterical. Reagan is looking so good, Jen.

Too funny! I have a little girl here now who is a fence climber, but she can also jump. Last night she discovered a rope toy and went wild! She jumped over poor old Donald dog and he said, "What was THAT?" (He was standing and she just sailed over him, toy in mouf!)
She is going to prison tomorrow. I'm hoping it will be good thing for her. She's a great dog, but needs some manners.

Love it, I wish my guys didn't poop out so fast. Dan does a spinny or two with his toys and he is done for.

An active high energy dog makes for a great performance dog!

I think a lot of that energy is the energy of youth. They mellow as they age. Some just take longer to mellow than others!

That being said, Riley is adorable playing with the rope! And the sounds she makes! Oh my goodness, that one is good for a billion laughs a day!

Hmmm, my word verification is "boing" how fitting:-) Hey at least they don't tackle each other and bite each other's legs!

The more I read this blog, the worse I want a greyhound. Argh! Your videos kill me!

Steve doesn't ever get tired, either. Right now the two bullies are asleep on the couch and he's outside with his rope toy running and spinning in the backyard.

Katie, you just aren't allowed to get a boring couch potato one. Get an active one! :-).

I figure I better wait on a houndy until After Cats. And then I will recruit you to find me one ;)
