Just Mean!

Its hell training dogs. Look what Reagan did to me. She was excited and exploded, clawing my leg in the process. I guess I will have to turn down that swimsuit modeling gig. Dang, I bruise easy!

Ouch, Jen! That must have hurt...but I hope this means you're feeling better.

LOL! I was just watching those videos and thought, "Damn, she's brave to wear shorts with those youngsters!" Been there and have the scars to show for it! I NEVER wear shorts nor sandals at the track.

Welcome to my world. :) I get this from dogs at work all the time--usually not from happy dogs, but from dogs that are protesting a nail trimming. The pants give some protection on my legs, but I also get clawed on my arms.

Did more training with Sam and Jacey. In addition to crappy "sits," Jacey does awful "downs." She's the only greyhound I've ever seen that doesn't do the sphinx-like "down." She's never done it--not in two and a half years. I mean, we're not competing, so sits and downs don't have to look pretty, but "down" takes so long since she has to get positioned just right so she can plop down on her side...

Sorry that you have to put the modeling career on hold. ;-) Looks like you'll have a rainbow of colors from that before it fades away.

I am feeling better, but this is exactly the kind of thing that happens when they don't get enough exercise. So there's my punishment for taking a day off :-). Riley is good about being quiet and sleeping off the boredom, but Reagan is a brat. So I'm going to wear her out today and then tonight when she is tired and tries to go to bed early, I'm going to pester her.

Ouch! I don't know what's worse, being scratched or being poked by their hard noses when they jump up and jab you in the chest or back with those points snouts.

I have the same bruise on the same place on my leg from our grey. He was asking for more petting and caught me just right while I was sitting on the floor.

Being twice as old and twice the size of you, I will spare you any photos.

I might get more pity for my spider veins anyway. ;-}

Maybe you should try one of those padded suits they use to train police dogs?

For the record, Gerry, I am not 25 anymore. I'm already 8 years away from 40 :-).

Toasty, you have a crazy mind!

High 5 Reagan! Guys don't feel too bad for Jen, she used to DIG her nails into me when we were kids!

Come on Denise! I know there are far worse stories than that!! I remember something about scissors and, maybe a butter knife?? =-)

Denise was the one with the butter knife. Thanks, Snookums.

Stephen,
Are you trying to get yourself into trouble? The last few of your posts seem to be heading that way. Watch yourself, or you'll be in the doghouse or without a ride to your kayak trips;)

jen - i too bruise easy. really really easy. crazy easy. i learned a trick when i had a spill off of my horse a couple of years ago - ice for 20 min and then heat as often as you can. you won't believe how quickly it will heal up. it's not too late to put a heating pad on it. you'll see improvement i promise.

btw - the younger sister is always at fault in those "remember when stories." I don't know when denise will figure this out.
